Privacy Policy — Manager's Advisor

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Manager Gear ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you use Manager's Advisor and the Manager Gear website (the "Service"). Manager Gear is the data controller for that personal data.

Manager's Advisor works by having you describe real work situations. Those descriptions can include personal information about you and, sometimes, about other people (for example colleagues you mention). Please share only what you need to, and avoid including highly sensitive details or information you are not permitted to share.

1. What we collect

  • Account data — your email address and basic account details needed to sign you in.
  • Your company-&-role profile — the plain-language description of your role and how your team or company runs, which you provide so the guidance fits your situation.
  • Conversation content — the problems you describe and the full back-and-forth with the advisor, including any diagnoses and suggested moves.
  • Technical data — basic log and device information needed to run and secure the Service.

We do not collect or store your payment card details — see "Payments" below.

2. How we use it

  • To provide the Service — understand your problem, produce a diagnosis and a first move, and keep the context of your conversation.
  • To secure, maintain, and improve the Service and the quality of its guidance.
  • To communicate with you about your account, trial, and support requests.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations.

3. AI processing

To generate diagnoses and guidance, the content of your conversation is processed by artificial-intelligence models, including through trusted third-party AI providers that process the data on our behalf under contract and do not use it to train their own models except as permitted by our agreements with them. Processing is limited to running the Service.

4. Payments

Link, LLC (f/k/a Lemon Squeezy LLC) is our Merchant of Record and processes all payments as an independent controller of the payment data you provide to it (card details, billing information, and any tax identifiers). We receive only limited information needed to manage your subscription — such as your email, plan, and subscription status. Please see Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy for how it handles payment data.

5. Legal bases

Where data-protection law applies (including the EU GDPR for users in the EU/EEA), we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you signed up for); legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service); consent where required; and legal obligation (for accounting and compliance).

6. Website analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the Manager Gear website — for example which pages are viewed, how far visitors scroll and which buttons are clicked. Clarity also shows how a visit unfolds (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, as heatmaps and session replays); sensitive content, such as text typed into fields, is masked by default. These tools use cookies and similar technologies and collect technical data such as device and browser type, approximate location derived from the IP address, and pages visited. We use this information to improve the website and the Service, and for security.

Google and Microsoft process this data as described in the Google Privacy Policy and the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

7. Sharing

We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the Service — hosting and infrastructure, the AI providers described above, Lemon Squeezy for payments, and website analytics providers (Google and Microsoft) — under appropriate agreements. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data where required by law.

8. International transfers

We and our providers may process data in countries outside your own, including outside the EU/EEA. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for those transfers.

9. Retention

We keep your account, profile, and conversation data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period, unless a longer period is required by law (for example, billing records). You can ask us to delete your data — see your rights below.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, a copy in portable form, restriction of or objection to certain processing, and withdrawal of consent. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No online service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we work to protect the information you entrust to us and to limit access to it.

12. Children

The Service is intended for professional use by adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

13. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and, where appropriate, notified to you.
